Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council elections will be held on Saturday, September 8, 9am-1pm at Shepherd of the Hills Church. The PRNC creates a forum for the community to weigh in on local matters and makes recommendations to the City. The Council works closely with our City Councilmember Mitchell Englander to implement our recommendations.
The Council recently reviewed Walmart’s alcohol permit proposal, requested additional security measures, and after much discussion, came out in support of a revised proposal that is a win-win for Walmart and the community.
The Council evaluated proposed bike lanes in Porter Ranch and supported those proposed for Rinaldi and Sesnon, but opposed lanes proposed on Porter Ranch Drive adjacent to Toys R Us due to safety and potential need for additional traffic lanes in the future.
The PRNC has heard presentations on local development and provided input to plans for the shopping center to be built at Rinaldi and Porter Ranch Drive, the Hidden Creeks Estates and Shepherd of the Hills parking structure.
