Councilman Smith's Chief Legislative Deputy John Lee has helped secure funds to make improvements to Aliso Canyon Park on the east end of Porter Ranch.
June 2010, Aliso Canyon Park was approved to receive $1 million in Proposition K funding for improvements to this beautiful green space. Prop. K was approved by L.A. voters to improve and construct City parks, recreation facilities, childcare centers and to acquire land for new open space.
A Local Volunteer Neighborhood Oversight Committee (LVNOC) of community members has been appointed to monitor the progress of the project, convey the viewpoints of the community and make recommendations to the Bureau of Engineering.
The LVNOC will meet on Thursday, July 1 and Thursday, July 8 at 3:00 pm at the Granada Hills Recreation Center (formerly Petit Park) located at 16730 Chatsworth St., Granada Hills.
