Here are the quick facts on the proposed reorganization:
FS28 (Corbin and Porter Ranch Drive)

FS 8 (Tampa by the Library)
- Keep the pumper engine as is, including one paramedic/firefighter (4 firefighters)
- Eliminate the Basic Life Support ambulance
- Keep a reserve ambulance at the station with nobody to operate it.
FS 96 (Marilla and Topanga Canyon in Chatsworth)

Letter from United Firefighters Union April 25, 2011
On Wednesday, April 27th, the City Council’s Budget Committee will take up the Mayor’s proposed budget for FY 2011/2012. In the Mayor’s document is a proposal to permanently close the ambulance serving your community from your local firehouse. If adopted, your ambulance will be parked with no assigned staffing to immediately respond to your neighbor’s emergencies.
The United Firefighters of Los Angeles City are opposed to this dangerous service reduction. We will conduct a press conference to state our opposition on the South Lawn steps of City Hall, on Wednesday the 27th, commencing at 12:30 p.m., just prior to the beginning of budget deliberations. Firefighters will be joined by some of the city’s elected officials, clergy members and business leaders. We urge you to join us as well. With your help we might just be able to convince the Council’s Budget Committee to prioritize the life-saving work of firefighters and paramedics higher than some of the wasteful items included in the City’s budget.
Please call me at (213) 280-4434 if you have any questions. If you are able to confirm your attendance, please do so in a reply to this message.
Thank You,
Pat McOsker - President
