Mayor's Operation Neighborhood Blitz

Mayor's Operation Neighborhood Blitz Press Conference
February 5th at 11:30 am at the 12400 block of Jolette Ave. in Granada Hills.

The Mayor first launched this program in Sherman Oaks during the month of July.  The Blitz has now covered the entire city, 99 neighborhood councils and is starting round two in our communities.

Background:
Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Bureau of Street Services is empowering local communities to survey their streets and prioritize the small asphalt repairs (SAR) that make a big difference in the quality of life.

The Bureau is partnering local Neighborhood Councils to act as the Bureau’s eyes and ears, or as the Bureau puts it, BSS Honorary Inspectors.  The effort will dispatch a city pothole repair truck to every neighborhood in the city twice over the next year.

“I’m working to make sure the city responds to pothole repairs in about 48 hours, but I want to do more than react to your calls,” said Mayor Garcetti.  “Government should actively go out to our neighborhoods and work with residents first hand to fix the most pressing problems.  The best way to fix problems in our neighborhoods isn’t from an office in City Hall. It’s on the ground in our neighborhoods.”

For more information on the Bureau of Street Services visit their website.
The first ten Neighborhood Councils to participate in Operation Neighborhood Council Blitz are:
Sherman Oaks
Sunland-Tujunga
Foothill Trails District
Pacoima
Sylmar
Granada Hills North
Porter Ranch
Chatsworth
Northridge West
Northridge South

The Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council is an organization that is officially certified by the City of Los Angeles to increase our influence with City lawmakers and departments to improve our community.

The PRNC came about as a result of Los Angeles City Charter Reform and interested stakeholders in our community. The Board is elected by stakeholders and holds monthly meetings, usually on the first Wednesday of the month. The agenda is emailed to those who subscribe (see the green box in the upper corner), on our website here and posted at 11280 Corbin Avenue, Northridge, CA 91326 on a bulletin board facing Corbin street.

The Board is comprised of volunteers who want to help you make Porter Ranch a better place to live, work and grow. We can't do it for you, but we can do it with you.
