Porter Ranch/Granada Hills Burglar Suspect Arrested
Share/Save

A man suspected in a string of burglaries in Porter Ranch and Granada Hills was arrested on Thursday, December 12 at his North Valley home, LAPD Devonshire Division Senior Lead Office Del Core announced.

A specialized burglary unit of LAPD served a warrant on the man at home last week according to Senior Lead Officer Dario del Core.  Evidence that may possibly link him to some of the other local burglaries was also collected.

Del Core said that it is likely that the arrest will clear up many of the burglary cases plaguing the areas north of Rinaldi all of this year.  Devonshire area police have spent hundreds of hours in 2013 in an effort to prevent further burglaries and to arrest and convict the people responsible for the crimes.

Officer del Core advises all residents to continue to be vigilant about strangers in the neighborhood, and to be sure all doors and windows are locked when you are not home.  Still, he expressed optimism that with the suspect in custody, the unusually high number or residential burglaries in the area will be reduced.

As always continue to take every precaution in securing your property and be highly aware of your surrounds.  Work with your neighbors, exchange information often and monitor activity on your block.

Use 911 for all emergencies and crimes in progress.  Call 1-877-275-5273 for all other non-emergency police responses in Porter Ranch.
