Members of the Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council celebrated the dedication of Hidden Creeks, located in unincorporated area just northwest of Porter Ranch on February 21, 2020
The effort to preserve Hidden Creeks in Unincorporated Chatsworth and Porter Ranch was only possible because of the incredible collaboration of community members who advocated for it to remain as permanent open space. Thank you to Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Senator Henry Stern, Councilmember John Lee, the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority, the developers, our Native American partners, and every community leader who came to the table on this issue so we can enjoy this space for years to come.
According to LAist, "L.A. County and a number of conservation agencies chipped in to purchase Hidden Creeks for $6.7 million in November 2019."
Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation will establish and expand the trails network in the area later this year. The park is open, but hard to find. The access is up De Soto and Brown's Canyon.
