PRNC Board Member Becky Leveque recently reached out to Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo's office and received this update on the Reseda Offramp:

This is the March update which is the latest information I have received from CalTrans, I will reach out to them again for the most recent information and pass it along once I receive it. 

As you know, the many winter storms that we’ve seen over the past few months have caused roadway damage across Caltrans District 7, and some construction project sites have been impacted by erosion and flooding. About two months ago, crews working on repairing the broken drainage pipe connection at the Reseda Boulevard off-ramp/Rinaldi Boulevard noted a depression forming on eastbound Rinaldi Street. Several weeks of rain events caused further erosion, and a new sinkhole formed on the eastbound shoulder of Rinaldi Street at the beginning of March.

During last week’s short break from the rain, Caltrans temporarily closed the eastbound lanes on Rinaldi  to allow crews to safely install a temporary support structure underneath the roadway. Afterward, Caltrans reopened one eastbound lane. The outside eastbound lane is expected to remain closed for the next three months as Caltrans finishes repairs to the underground pipe and to the newly formed sinkhole.

The project team is currently evaluating methods to incorporate the additional repair work into an updated project schedule. I plan to send another news release to update the public on any potential timeline changes as soon as a more solid timeframe is determined. We appreciate your patience, as we are coordinating with multiple vendors and determining the feasibility of options, such as adjusting working days/hours.
